Today we started out hiking across a cow pasture, gingerly placing our steps to avoid the cow patties. Fortunately the cows we had seen the night before RIGHT by the stile, weren’t there. No idea where they went: still sleeping; still having breakfast; at the other end of the field?? Then it was into a beautiful forest with a pine needle soft ground cover. Slowly the comfortable trail disappeared into the familiar Bruce Trail rock. Finally, we emerged on the cliffs high above Georgian Bay. For the rest of the day the hike was varied: woods, and cliff walk. Some parts were a little scary we were so close to the edge. One slip on the rocks and we would have plunged a few hundred feet to the aqua water below. But we made it safely. The end of the trail followed through farmers' fields of rich green grass and wildflowers and emerged on the road entering Lions Bay. To our surprise, shortly after we emerged, the host from our B & B (Lionheart Guest House) jumped out of his van and joined us for the last couple of k into Lions Head. He was the photographer of our finish photos! In an effort to get organized and leave on time tomorrow, we prepared our lunch for the next day, then headed out to dinner. On our return, I completed this post, and now I am off to bed. No problem sleeping these nights!!
